2010 CURRENT FISHING REPORT ARCIVES 2010
July 19-20th Slow and steady!
Good am bites with the usual suspects still catching big salmon. Iola is having many 2-3 yr old days and cebolla has little to no reports with Lake Fork doing the best. The past 2 days have been good with less numbers but great fish and splitting the days with searching missions. The future is looking good so make fishing Blue part of yours.
July 17th-18th Still Going!
Two more great days of fishing with big change ups in mood, location, depth and color. I won't give up the details because they aren't solid but follow the boats right now and keep it in the 30fow range. Anyway, the Ratliff party rocked kokes yesterday up to 30 fish landed and today was slower but that's because I was relaxing for once!- Excuses, excuses I know- oh well. It's still happening!
July 15-16th Change Up!
The gods laughed at us as we pushed yesterdays spread through lifeless water. The fish have moved.... a bit. The Daniels crew and I worked hard though, reassembled the pattern and ended up with 20- forget the losses! Anyway, things are changing so be ready for anything goes- . This morning, (Friday) we went to look for realy deep salmon in very secret spots and found some!
July 14th Thank the fish Gods
Jeff and Mark broke the charts today with all around awards. First of all, they landed the most salmon of any trip-32 salmon!+ 2 trout. They also caught the smallest salmon I've ever seen. AND, they lost the most fish I've ever seen- 19- these are fish hooked and lost, not strikes! Hell of a day- big four year olds pushed 50% of the catch. The pattern stands at watermellon colors at 28-20fow, 3 to 5 colors- Lake Fork basin, deep water. Wow, I'm tired and out of corn!- It's on, It's on, It's on..... come and git it on!
July 13th Never ending
Spanked, smacked and slayed up salmon today. 29 landed, 20 in the box, 6 trout released, 7 lost at the boat. The Mcguire men rocked it today and the salmon obeyed. What a day with big 4's and mixed sizes all day- highs and lows make the best trip and this one nailed it!!!
July 12th- More of Same..... Great Fishing!
Non fishing related activities today! Blah! but guides and associated clowns were out today and the fish are still here. Forget the reports, just plan your next trip. Folks, my policy remains the same, catch me after a trip or at the fillet station and I'll spill the beans- the days the pattern stay the same- you'll be on it, but I will always try to steer ya in the right direction, unless it was a terrible day.... but try to expect good fishing, I do. So do something nice for your boss, or wife, if they are different and get out here!! Here's a vid from Sunday- two guides goofin' off!
Some OK Videos of people catching fish!
July 11th 4 bangers
Another slay day aboard the boat today. The Leibel crew had a heck of a trip with 29 kokes landed- many lost and trout mixed in. What a day with 19 4 year olds- steady pattern all day- YES YES YES- pics on BMF.com- working on youtube videos again- now!
July 10th High Hooker
Today was a numbers day, and I went out on a solo mission to keep the pattern alive for this weeks' trips. I landed 23 kokes + many lost and mixed trout- only two salmon kept for dinner- all others released for you! Turnip and associated clowns also had a hot day today with big numbers and weight- and fish moving deeper and becoming more aggresive- squids and uncle joes brought it today with the variations doing well in the slow times. I joined Turnip this afternoon and through a slow picked we nailed 20.25" koke weighing 3.0 lbs! I hope it stays great! There are currently complaints mounting about terrible fishing and it's leading to alternate measures that we are not sure of yet- but- to catch more fish, fish 10 hour sessions with a minimum of 20 bait selections- this is a start to catch more- the days of sitting back and hammering are over- we are now working full time!!!!
July 9 th Red Hot!
One of our favorite guides had an incredible day today with a huge number of kokes. We went out for evening session to check the pattern and picked 3 four year olds and 2 2's. The pattern is early and greens and rainbows. Work 'em hard with the change up and keep going- you will also have a banner day. Expect this to continue!
July 8 th Slabby!
Captain Dave and I had another day off and decided to go............ fishing! Early am bite brought it with only slab 4 year olds. The bite continues and the am is good way to start the day- get on the water in the dark- then fumble into the daylight with a pattern. It's still hot so if you book a trip- be prepared to start early! Keep on fishing!!
July 7 th Dogs Day!
Hello folks- here to give an overview of the season and some reports. Kokes continue to hit the boards today while I joined a guides day off with Robby Richardson of Sport Fish Colorado and Justin somethingorother- the first call guide for the marinas. We had 'em during the morning blitz from 14 to 18fow on the usual suspects with trends moving in the green direction. Fish are beginning to school slightly deeper but the more active feeding fish are in the upper columns. Corn continues to be a must and don't be afraid to try some scent with it. Be sure to have an arsenal ready because the fish are here- if you're not catching, change it up, and down, and color and speed. Don't drag the same ole thing too long! - the fish will abide. Anyway, this site is being worked on daily, the logo and shirts are still being developed and - we're on our way to jigging season. You can expect to see us starting to look for schools in a few weeks and if you're interested in a trip- now's the time to book- we're filling up fast. Anyway- stay tuned- most pics are up at Bluemesafishing.com, my crappy internet will only let me upload so much video per month- lame- so check over there for pics! We'll give an update tomorrow!
July 6th Hammered!
25 landed- more released and too many 4's broken off- it's on- We had the Lyle crew with special guest Parry Parino out we clocked 'em. The am blitz put slabs in the boat and we continued to pick and hammer throughout the day- 22 kept, many lost or broken off and a couple who were released to swim another day! Good trip men!
July 5th - Busted!
The pattern finally busted with the return of the afternoon winds we haven't seen in 4 weeks. It did change the pattern and fishing is still good. We had the LeBonde party out today and had a great trip full of highs and lows. We hooked a big laker, fought and lost four year olds and got worked by a big school in Lake Fork. We managed 8 to fillet station and everyone had a heck of a time. Check mate kokanee! We put it back together tonight and nailed nothing but 4 yr olds and let's hope we can carry this thing to tomorrow- hope you had a good holiday- clean it up, pack it up, and get back up here- the schools is here
July 4th Rockin!
2 Trips a day- veryone rockin 20- 30fish a day- no b/s. The fishing is still hot but the wind has come back! The am bite is hot so get out earlier- the full story is at bluemesafishing.com- reports!
July 3nd 2010- Night Bite
Had the Hogan party for an evening session 3-8pm and it was great. The wind is back and the bite didn't phase- 15 landed, many released and only 5 lost- big fours battled the crew and doubles were happening- great crew, great bite!- it's still happening!
July 2nd 2010- Day Off!
Turnip and I went on a Morrow Point Charter with Robby and Ryan today on a personal invite from Ed of Western Pump and Dredge and it was awesome. 2 boats 10 guys and we had fish all day! Big 4 year olds and mixed bag trout. These two guys do the hard time and are a valued asset of the park service for these trips.- Blue mesa report- still hot- guys had 'em all day and quit with the rain- it is good!
July 1st 2010- Repeat!!
We had charters the last two days- tons and tons of kokes- good mix with monster 4's and mixed bag- video will be up soon- will it ever stop? Kick ass trip today. 23 landed 20kokes/3trout, 8 dropped- 6 four year olds.- Robert and Betty put it to 'em and the koke responded- will have pics later, must sleep. (4 colors)
